September 24th is the first "Annual Mortgage and Credit Review Day"
Parsippany, NJ (PRWEB) September 9, 2008 -- Today's mortgage crisis is affecting people from all walks of life and one of the reasons many are in trouble is because they did not have a basic understanding of mortgages, credit, what to look for and how to choose the right program. "September is already registered as the 'Self Improvement Month' so we wanted to capitalize on this awareness to highlight the importance of financial literacy and improving one's financial well being" says Dave Muti the founder of this movement. The "Annual Mortgage and Credit Review Day" will be held on the last Wednesday of September each year; this year it falls on the 24th.
Everyone makes fun of the many obscure national "day" for this and that but think about it, mortgages and credit are the two things that have the biggest impact on monthly expenses and cash flow yet most people don't review, monitor or even know what affects them. "Being proactive with your finances is how you can make life happen. Many people drift through life and let things happen to them. In essence they are in a 'reactionary mode' but based upon my experience those that take a 'proactive approach' to life are usually better off" says Muti author of a recently released book entitled Mortgages: What You Need to Know, Strategies to Take Control of Your Financial Future.
"We are facing unprecedented times with people losing homes and having credit destroyed but many in this situation could have avoided it if they had a basic understanding of the mortgage process, what affects credit and the ramifications of their decisions" says Muti. This is a financial literacy movement to benefit the consumer and this movement is calling on all mortgage planners to offer assistance in providing free analysis of credit reports and terms of mortgages to mortgage holders so they can better their situation. "Hopefully if we can reach a large enough audience we can start to make a difference" says Muti.
